Note: I would like to sell dog and
cat food on my site, but the shipping is cost prohibitive (for me
to order and for you to purchase) because the bags and cans are
so heavy. You are better off asking your local pet store to special
order the pet food for you.
I'm currently adding organic raw meat and bones, and vegetables,
into the diets of my dog, Diamond, and two cats, Chloe and Ellie.
Here's what I use for dry food: Innova's Evo. It's free of
grains, and contains good quality meat, vegetables and fruits. There's
one for cats and one for dogs. Since my dog, Diamond, is now 12
years old, I've switched him to the regular Innova dry food as it
has less protein. Seems to be better for him.
My three and one half year old Premarin rescue horse,
Kokopelli, is eating chemical free hay and Green Mountain Organics
Coarse Organic Horse feed with (free choice) Minivite, the multivitamin
and mineral supplement that balances out grass hay. He also gets
organic flax meal or rice bran, and a probiotic supplement, basically
whichever refrigerated probiotic product is on sale at the natural
food store. I'm using diatomaceous earth as a non-chemical dewormer
twice per week in his feed (it's been working very well). He's getting
free choice Redmond's Real Salt (healthy salt with over 50 minerals,
it's one of the healthiest salt available. It's for humans and horses.
It replaces the salt/mineral licks for horses, which I don't think
are very good quality) and The Source (seaweeds) free choice. Seaweed
feeds the good bacteria in his gut. Very important for keeping the
work population down. Now that he's in training and living temporarily
at a barn with 20 horses, I 've got him on an immune system boosting
product just to keep him extra strong in his new living conditions.
So far, so good after one month. Also, the only vaccine I gave him
was tetanus, which I did when he was gelded. He's enjoyed incredible
health, not even a cold in his 3 and 1/2 years, knock on wood.
